All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is an apex body and a regulator of Technical Education in the Country. It is responsible for planning and coordinated development of the Technical Education system throughout the Country. In the promotion of qualitative improvements of such education in relation to planned qualitative growth and the regulation and proper maintenance of norms and standards in the Technical Education system and for matters connected therewith, Council needs Experts from diverse areas.
AICTE conducts its activities generally through bodies like Scrutiny Committee, Expert Committee, Appeal Committee, Hearing Committee, Vigilance Committee, Ethics Committee and such other Committees as may be required from time to time. AICTE is in the process of empanelling experts in different areas of specialization like Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Applied Arts and Crafts, Hotel Management, Catering Technology, Law, Finance and Pure Sciences besides many other interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary areas.
Vice Chancellors, serving and retired, retired Judges and retired bureaucrats at the level of Joint Secretary or above at the Centre or their equivalent at the State, eminent persons from society, Principals / Directors serving and retired, Teaching faculty of various specializations, not below the level of Associate Professor with at least 10 years of teaching experience, Professionals from Industry, Scientists from Research centres, Research laboratories, advocates, architects and all other professionals from the areas as indicated above with experience of at least 10 years in their chosen field are eligible to apply.
Experts currently empanelled with AICTE are also requested to apply online for a possible continuation of the empanelment status. All individuals desirous of being considered for empanelment under various categories are requested to apply online by submitting relevant data, uploading the CV and Photograph at Bureau>Technical Program>Experts on the AICTE web Portal www.aicte-india.org An expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of technique or skill whose faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely and with integrity is accorded authority and status by their peers or the public in a specific well-distinguished domain. An expert, more generally, is a person with extensive knowledge or ability based on research, experience, or occupation and in a particular area of study. Experts are called in for advice on their respective subject. An expert can be, by virtue of credential, training, education, profession, publication or experience, believed to have special knowledge of a subject beyond that of the average person, sufficient that others may officially (and legally) rely upon the individual's opinion.
Experts have a prolonged or intense experience through practice and education in a particular field. In specific fields, the definition of expert is well established by consensus and therefore it is not necessary for an individual to have a professional or academic qualification for them to be accepted as an expert.
